The federal district court would like to remind practitioners that the Federal Rules (including criminal, civil, bankruptcy and appellate) have been amended, effective December 1, 2009, to adopt new time periods throughout the rules. These changes are the result of the Time-Computation Project of the Judicial Conference. The project was launched to simplify the rules and adopt a days-are-days approach to computing all time periods. Accordingly, in computing time, every day including weekends and holidays is counted. Please refer to the applicable Federal Rule as amended on any matter pertaining to time periods. |
