Allgood Award Nominations- LAST CALL

The Executive Committee is accepting nominations for the Annual Robert L. Allgood Service Award. Please send nominations to

The award recognizes a member of our bar who has exhibited exemplary service and commitment to the bar and the community over a substantial period of time. Such service may include service to non-profit organizations, religious institutions, recreational sports organizations, and/or professional associations. The Executive Committee will consider all nominations and decide who will receive the award at the Annual Meeting in January.

Ben Brewton, Partner of Balch & Bingham, has been appointed to Chair of the Georgia State Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) for the next year.

Georgia Legal Services would like to thank the attorneys who braved the wet and cold to volunteer at the November 14th Ask-a-Lawyer Legal Advice Clinic. Those attorneys include Chad Bennett, Carletta Sims Brown, Samuel Emas, Lauminnia Nivens, Kimberly Wilder, and Charles Wills. We also wish to thank the Augusta-Richmond County Main Library, where the event was held and clients received pro bono legal advice on family law, probate, bankruptcy, housing, and consumer issues. We also wish to thank Attorney Sam G. Nicholson for volunteering with GLSP on an ongoing basis.
