We had a wonderful week celebrating Law Day. On Tuesday, April 30th, a panel discussion regarding the Law Day theme of “Free Speech” was held at Augusta University. On Wednesday, May 1st, members of the Bar met at the steps of Richmond County Courthouse to renew their attorney oath. The events culminated with a banquet at the West Lake Country Club on May 2nd. There, Professor Eric Segall, of Georgia State University College of Law, spoke with our members regarding the current status of the law regarding free speech rights. In addition to hearing from Professor Segall, the Bar was proud to present the Liberty Bell award to Rev. Terence Dicks and to award the winners of the essay and poster contests.
